Hi, I'm Christoph.
I’ve loved technology for as long as I can remember, starting with my very first computer my parents got me to tinker with when I was 8 years old. Ever since, I have spent my free time exploring new software and learning all about writing my own.
My interests are in software architecture, infrastructure and operations. Having a high-level overview of a system and seeing how it slots in with internal and external dependencies, then getting it running is a special kind of experience.
The thing that fascinates me the most about software is the way humans interact with it, and the way we interact with each other while creating something new. Technology can do a lot of things, but it cannot replace empathy, compassion and common humanity. Providing my team the psychological safety to speak up and challenge directly is the most important aspect of my work.
In my free time, I love taking road trips and taking pictures of all kinds of different landscapes and environments. Another big photography-related interest of mine is astrophotography, which has led me to many sleepless nights trying to find the right shot. To follow up with more creativity, I have played the trombone for about twenty years now, and have recently started to learn the cello to balance it out with a little more classical tones. I also enjoy going to concerts of any genre and having way too much unearned confidence while flailing my arms around pretending to dance.
I also have a huge interest in space and aviation, and want to pursue getting my private pilot's license before I die from old age. For now, you can find me at my desk playing Flight Simulator 2020.
